Our highly trained and experienced instructors talk through equipment inspections, review of site hazards, equipment placement, proper cutting techniques, tying methods, and proper use of various rigging gear.

Field Instruction

After time in the classroom, training continues in the field for a short demonstration completed by our trained instructor showing students how to properly fell a tree.

Throughout the class, we’ll highlight important tips and habits so you can make note and begin to successfully integrate what you’ve learned.

  • This is a required segment of our training in order for students to attend any other classes offered by Forest Apps. As such, here are a few best practices from our repeat customers:

    • You can include as many students as possible in the one-day demo training.

    • For example, you can have 30+ students in day 1, then schedule 10-12 students for day 2 and/or day 3 training.

    • Typical schedule:

      • Monday: all students attend day 1 training

      • Tuesday: 12 students (1st set) attend day 2.

      • Wednesday: 12 students (1st set) attend day 3.

      • Thursday: 12 students (2nd set) attend day 2.

      • Friday: 12 students (2nd set) attend day 3.
